Bishkek, June 24 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan needs in expert, technical and financial support for democratic transformation. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Asylbek Jeenbekov said during a meeting with Chairman of the Socialist Group, expert-Rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for Kyrgyzstan Andreas Gross.
According to the information of the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament, the meeting was held within the framework of the official signing ceremony of the certificate on granting Kyrgyzstan the status "Partner for democracy" and parliamentary participation of Kyrgyz delegation in PACE summer session.
Speaker Jeenbekov expressed appreciation to Mr. Gross for his work done as an expert rapporteur on Kyrgyzstan.
Mr. Gross congratulating on obtaining the status of PACE has made a number of suggestions for the effective use of the opportunities provided to Kyrgyzstan in the framework of this partnership. In the first place, he urged the Kyrgyz parliament, which in the future will officially represent the country in the PACE, to actively participate in meetings of the committees of PACE and the organization itself. He also suggested the use of this platform for the organization of seminars to improve the electoral legislation and the party system in Kyrgyzstan. For his part, he stressed the willingness to share experiences and further cooperation with parliamentarians of Kyrgyzstan.
Jeenbekov stressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to organize targeted meetings with MPs of PACE member countries and said that the official delegation of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of the received status will be formed soon.
