Chafik Sarsar, président de l’Instance Supérieure Indépendante pour les Elections a dénoncé lors d’une déclaration accordée à Mosaïque FM les accusations proférées par le Front Populaire Hamma Hammami à son encontre. Hamma Hammami avait accusé, sur les ondes de Mosaïque FM Chafik Sarsar d’œuvrer pour l’intérêt du mouvement Ennahdha en soutenant la tenue simultanée des élections présidentielles et législatives.

Treize petits partis politiques qui avaient soutenu le candidat Ali Benflis ont annoncé, lundi 19 mai,leur décision de ne pas participer au projet révision de la Constitution inité par le pouvoir.  Dans le même temps, Mouloud Hamrouche tient, de son coté, à des tables rondes avec des associations de la société civile pour prendre le pouls du pays, mais lui non plus ne semble pas désireux de donner son onction au projet de nouveau texte fondamental.

Golkar warns internal Jokowi-Kalla supporters to toe line

A Golkar Party official said the party intended to discipline members who broke ranks to support the Joko "Jokowi" Widodo-Jusuf Kalla ticket as Golkar had formally announced its support for Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa.

At the last minute, Golkar joined a coalition with the Gerindra Party, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), United Development Party (PPP) and National Mandate Party (PAN). The coalition accounts for 45.3 percent of seats in the next House of Representatives and 47.54 percent of votes cast in the legislative election.

Supreme Court to be consulted on YouTube ban

LAHORE: The Supreme Court is yet to be approached for clarification of its order regarding ban on YouTube, as directed by the Lahore High Court last week.

On May 13, a division bench of the LHC had directed petitioner Bytes for All to approach the Supreme Court in this regard. In the meantime, the court stopped proceedings on the petition for restoration of access to the website.

The LHC had issued these directions to the petitioner when the federal government had informed the court that they had imposed the ban on the orders of the Supreme Court.

Interior Minister says he will modify national laws

The Minister of Interior & Federalism for the Somali Federal Government announced that the Ministry will undertake significant changes including the laws that the government has imposed.

Abdullahi Godax Barre, the Interior Minister strained that the reason for the laws to be changed are mainly because they are wrong, and will modify them before bringing it before Parliament to endorse the regulations.

Golkar joins Gerindra coalition

Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie is reported to have signed an agreement with Gerindra Party chief patron and presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, on the formation of a coalition between the two parties.

Tribunnews.com reported that the signing of the agreement, taking place shortly after the declaration of Prabowo and his running mate, Hatta Rajasa, as the coalition’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates today, was held at Aburizal’s residence in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The Sudanese presidency on Monday delivered a firm warning to media outlets on its coverage of certain items that poses a danger to national security and the country as a whole.

The unusual statement carrying a veiled threat noted that "some of the media and press outlets are repeatedly dealing with national security, military affairs and justice issues in a negative and destructive manner that subjects the safety of the nation to harm and weakens its cohesion and crumbles its texture".

La lista del primer ministro iraquí, Nuri al Maliki, fue la más votada en las elecciones legislativas del mes pasado, aunque queda lejos de la mayoría. El Estado de la Ley obtiene al menos 92 de los 328 escaños del Parlamento, según los resultados provisionales hechos públicos hoy lunes por la Comisión Electoral. Ese éxito supone un revés para los adversarios políticos de Al Maliki, tanto chiíes como suníes y kurdos, contrarios a que ejerza un tercer mandato. Para lograrlo necesita poner en pie una coalición que garantice la investidura de su nuevo Gobierno, algo que puede llevar meses.

Israeli parliament to choose new president on June 10

Israeli lawmakers will elect a successor to outgoing President Shimon Peres on June 10, parliamentary speaker Yuli Edelstein told reporters on Monday.

Edelstein's announcement marks the official start of the race for the position, which has been held by Peres since 2007.

Candidates must receive the backing of at least 10 other MPs, and formally present their requests in writing to the speaker on May 27, Edelstein said.

In Israel, the post of president is largely ceremonial and executive power rests with the prime minister.

Jakarta. It was the worst-kept secret in contemporary Indonesian politics, and on Monday it was made official: presidential front-runner Joko Widodo has picked Jusuf Kalla, the former vice president, to be his running mate for the July 9 election.

“After some thinking and consultation with coalition party leaders, we have decided to choose Bapak Muhammad Jusuf Kalla to be my running mate,” Joko said in a brief declaration at the historical Gedung Juang building in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Monday morning, where he was flanked by Kalla.

CHP to start dialogue on candidate for presidential election

The leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will start, this week, consultation meetings both within the party and with nongovernmental organizations to hear proposals and to find out what qualities most Turkish citizens are looking for in a presidential candidate.

Gürsel Tekin, newly appointed secretary-general of the CHP, said the party's leader, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, would have talks with representatives of professional chambers, labor unions and major nongovernmental organizations and ask them what they would like to see in a presidential candidate.
