Kabul (BNA) The session of the Upper House Chaired by Fazel Hadi Muslimyar, the Senators approved the amendments to the law on elections up to the article 19.
Based on information of the press office of Upper House, the law has been prepared on the basis of provision of Constitution for conducting presidential elections, parliamentary elections, provincial council’s elections, district council elections, and municipality’s elections.
Approval of the amendment to the law on structure, duties and authorities of the independent elections and complaints commissions that were approved by the Senate during the current week and with the approval of amendments to the law on elections, the way was opened for holding future elections in the country.
The senators also condemned the terrorist attack on the Arianna Hotel near the presidential palace and considered it an effort for seeking gains by the Taliban at the peace process.
They also criticized the security forces for failing to prevent such fatal incidents which shocked Kabul residents.
The meeting of the senate urged the government to strengthen the intelligent security forces and to equip them with modern weapons in order to fight successfully in the war launched by regional intelligence services.
