Vote audit process completed: Nuristani

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced on Sunday the vote audit process had been completed and its results would be shared soon with the electoral watchdog.

IEC Chairman Ahmad Yousaf Nuristan told a press conference in Kabul results of 405 suspect ballot boxes were re-examined for technical reasons.

He said some 2,200 complaints had been registered by the Abdullah-led Reform and Unanimity. Of them, 1,683 have been found legitimate.

Ashraf Ghani’s Change and Continuity (C&C) team has lodged 729 complaints, with 242 considered valid. The audit results will be shared soon with the Independent Election Complaint Commission (IECC).
