New Opposition Movement of Kyrgyzstan (NOM) states to be out of relation to the rally on March 17, the Leader of NOM non-affiliated deputy of the Parliament Ravshan Zheenbekov said to 24.kg news agency.

According to him, "new opposition doesn't plan or initiate rallies or any other protest actions yet."

About 1.438,700 soms allocated to deputy elections of three Local Councils. Today at the session the Central Electoral Commission approved plan calendar of organizational and practical activities and expense budget for election preparation.

It is noted that elections in Kazybek Rural Council in At-Bashy district, Kok-Oy Council in Dzhumgal district of Naryn province, Kok-Art Council in Suzak district of Jalal-Abad province.

Allocated funds are provided for remuneration payment for members of Central Electoral Commission and also for holding elections of local councils.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan reported to the European Union on improving the electoral process. The press service of the commission informs.  

According to its data, the Deputy Chairwoman Ainura Shaiymkulova took part in the meeting of the committee on cooperation of EU in Brussels, where she reported on the carried out work on improvement of electoral process within the National Strategy for Development.   

Kyrgyz Prime Minister is against to consider Kumtor issue in a referendum

Prime Minister Jantoro Satybaldiyev today at a meeting of Ata –Jurt faction expressed his opinion that he is against the consideration of issues of Kumtor in a referendum.

 

He said that, there is no need to hold a referendum on the issue. "According to the draft agreement, the government is responsible for this issue. In addition, the agreement shall not pass ratification process, the Parliament should only support," said Satybaldiyev.

SDPK leads in Kara-Suu town council deputies elections. Special representative of the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Kara-Suu Territorial Election Commission (TEC) Rasulbek Kadyrov reported to 24.kg news agency .

According Rasulbek Kadyrov, today Kara-Suu TEC holds a meeting, where it confirmed the voting protocols and distributed deputy’s mandated among the parties. SDPK received 18 mandates in town council, Onuguu-Progress- 6 mandates, Bir-Bol- 4, and Zamandash- Sovremennik- 3 mandates.

Kyrgyzstan's Central Election Commission (BSK) has withdrawn the parliamentary mandates of three leaders of the opposition Ata-Jurt (Fatherland) party.

The BSK's representative, Rashid Bekbasarov, told journalists that the decision on August 20 to strip them of their seats in parliament went into effect immediately.

The results are generating tension within the national governing coalition, fueling complaints that new voices are being stifled and causing some observers to raise the specter of a possible repeat of recent history.

Voters in five key municipalities in Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek, Batken, Jalal-Abad, Naryn and Talas – cast ballots November 25 to select new city councils, which choose mayors and make decisions on municipal spending.
