A meeting was held today in Mogadishu in which legislators, clan elders, intellectuals and peace-builders participated in. Members of the society welcomed the motion against President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud calling on him to tender his resignation.
Nur Bocor Jeelle, the chairman of the House of Hawiye said at the meeting that the President failed in his leadership and in that case he should resign as soon as possible.
“Our President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has done nothing to stop the rival clans in Somalia and he is not a citizen leader but rather the leader of a certain group of people.” Said Mr. Jeelle
Also, other guests including the Leader of the Peace and Democratic Party Abdullahi Sheikh Hassan claimed that the President needs to peacefully step down after he failed in doing something positive for his people, the Somali citizens.
For the last few days, almost 115 have called on Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to resign after legislators accused him of incompetence of in sighting positive change in the war-torn country.
