Prime Minister denies he met with certain clans in Lower Shabelle

The Prime Minister of the Somali Federal Republic Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, has pledged that his government is committed in supporting the citizens in Lower Shabelle to stop all Al-Shabaab movements in the region, he said after a short trip to Marka and Qoryole.

Mr. Ahmed also added that the co-allied Somali National Army and African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) will flush out the terrorist insurgents from strategic strongholds in Lower Shabelle region including Barawe.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister also denied claims that he met with specific clans and tribes during his trip to Lower Shabelle region.

“We are the government for all the individuals living in the region, and I can say that nor my delegation or myself have held separate meetings with certain clans while were in Marka or Qoryole.” Mr. Ahmed claimed

The Prime Minister concluded a two day trip to Marka and Qoryole and returned to Mogadishu.
