Akaash Maharaj: "Kyrgyzstan is a unique country that has managed to build a parliamentarism"

Bishkek, June 9 / Kabar /. Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) will assist Kyrgyzstan in combating corruption. Executive director of GOPAC Akaash Maharaj said today in Bishkek during the International Conference “The role of parliamentarism in promoting state anti-corruption policy in the Kyrgyz Republic".

He said that Kyrgyzstan is a unique country that has managed to build a parliamentarism. "Kyrgyzstan is fighting against corruption and takes good experiences of many countries. All these struggle for statehood and modern fight against corruption is an opportunity to enhance democracy in the country. Kyrgyzstan is a unique country, it built a parliamentarism. Today there is a strong country and a strong parliamentary system," he said.

In his speech Akaash Maharaj emphasized that the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption will assist the country in the fight against corruption. 

The international conference entitled “The role of parliamentarism in promoting state anti-corruption policy in the Kyrgyz Republic" has started today in Bishkek at Ala-Archa state residence with the participation of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh and parliamentarians of GOPAC participating countries, such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Georgia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Canada, Yemen and others.
