President of the Republic Fuad Masum stressed the importance of the role of security forces in the success of the elections in the liberated areas.
A Presidential statement said that Masum met today, a senior delegation of federal Police Chiefs headed by Lt. Gen. Raed Shaker Jawdat, to discuss the support of the security forces and enhance their role in social peace."
He added that "Masum expressed his satisfaction and appreciation of the growing confidence and strength that the Iraqi citizens are trust in the Iraqi Federal Police," calling for "adherence to the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens and respect for human rights and human dignity in dealing with detainees and wanted people to the judiciary."
He added that "the Iraqi police forces in the liberated areas have an important role in the success of the upcoming electoral process and in the reconstruction efforts and community as well as its tasks to strengthen the protection of border crossings."
