Presidential candidate Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on Tuesday spoke to a gathering organized by the National Revolutionary Movement of Afghanistan and claimed elections would be better off overseen by a combination of Afghan tribal elders, religious scholars and youth.

The National Revolutionary Movement of Afghanistan, or Hezb-e Harakat-e Inqilab-e Islami, is a political group headed by Musa Khan Hotak that has publicly endorsed Ashraf Ghani's candidacy.

“If the elders, Ulema and youth supervised the election process there would be no room for fraud," the Presidential hopeful said.

The National Revolutionary Movement of Afghanistan is said to maintain active local offices in 27 provinces, casting a wide net of influence across the country.  The group is led mostly by religious scholars and tribal elders.

The news of the endorsement comes just after another political party, the Afghan National Liberation Front, headed by Sibghatullah Mojaddedi, announced its support for Ashraf Ghani in a gathering in Kabul on Monday.
