Nader Mohseni, head of the Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC), on Thursday said that the commission plans to address complaints starting from the central zone of each province beginning next week.

The ECC will address these complaints by zones until May 8.

Mohseni asked that the presidential teams prepare documents to defend their complaints they have registered.

If the presidential candidates do not present valid documents, the commission will void their complaints.

“We will begin investigating complaints starting at the central zones of provinces on Saturday,” he said. “Next Sunday, the ECC’s final decision will be broadcasted.”

Mohseni adds that over 2,000 complaints have been registered with the ECC, of which more than 1,000 are against the Independent Election Commission (IEC). The complaints were filed against IEC staff who worked in favor of particular candidates.

Among the total complaints registered to the ECC, only 121 complaints were in regards to the preliminary results of the presidential elections, of which nine were addressed publicly on Wednesday.
