The Independent Election Commission's (IEC) spokesman, Noor Mohammad Noor said that the 100 percent audit of vote's process has been completed after 48 days on Thursday night, which was set to build confidence between the two candidates so that issues do not arise in the future.

Noor said that the majority of fraud took place by "the government, government officials and supporters of both candidates and not by the IEC employees." Currently, the IEC is working on entering the checklists into the database.

"The speed of work is one thing that impacted the process," head of IEC's database department, Syed Ibrahim Saadat said. "We received some checklists twice and a number of checklists were different from the polling sites as the numbers did not match."

IEC said that the public will judge the employees of the IEC and its officials for committing fraud, but the 100 percent audit process reveals otherwise.

"IEC confirmed on the first day that fraud did take place in the elections, but large-scale fraud was not committed by IEC staff, however, frauds were committed by government officials, staffs of various institutions, lawbreakers and supporters of the candidates," Noor emphasized.

The election commission has not given an exact date on the announcement of the final results, but stressed that the final results will guarantee credibility and legitimacy in the process. The IEC has called on the candidates to endorse the outcome of the election process.
