Egypt's opposition forms committee to discuss stance on elections
The National Salvation Front will form a committee within the coming days to discuss its stance on the upcoming parliamentary elections, Magdi Hamdan, a member of the front, said on Wednesday.
The front held a meeting earlier today to discuss whether it will contest or boycott the elections, Hamdan, a member of the Democratic Front Party, told Aswat Masriya.
The meeting was held at the Democratic Front Party headquarters.
‘We will free them’ campaign launches
A group of political movements launched on Wednesday a campaign entitled ‘Hanharrarhom’ (We Will Free Them), established to organise popular pressure to release detainees arrested for taking part in revolutionary events.
The launch of the campaign was announced during a press conference held for political detainees. Political movements such as the Al-Tayar Al-Sha’aby (Popular Current), 6 April Democratic Front and the Free Front for Peaceful Change took part in the press conference.

El presidente de Egipto, Mohamed Mursi, inició este martes la reorganización de su gabinete al nombrar nuevos ministros en nueve carteras, entre las que se encuentran las de Finanzas, Justicia y Agricultura.
Los nuevos ministros nombrados por el presidente Mursi son Fayad Abdel Moneim Ibrahim, que ocupará la cartera de Finanzas; y Amr Darag que estará a cargo de Planificación y Cooperación Internacional.
También fueron nombrados los titulares de Petróleo, Sherif Hedara; de Agricultura, Ahmed el Guizaui; y de Inversiones, Yehia Abdel Samie, entre otros.
Court jails supporters of black-clad Egypt protest group
Six men were jailed by a Cairo court on Thursday in the first ruling against a little-known group opposed to Islamist President Mohamed Mursi that the government has accused of participating in "terrorist acts".
State security prosecution last month ordered the detention of the men it said were Black Bloc members on accusations that the group seeks the destruction of the country, Egyptian state news agency MENA reported at the time.
Six ministers to change in Egypt cabinet reshuffle-state paper
A limited cabinet reshuffle will see six ministers replaced in Egypt, state newspaper al-Ahram said on Thursday, citing government sources.
The new ministers, who could swear oath on Tuesday, are expected to be those of justice, legal and prosecution affairs, culture, agriculture, planning and international cooperation, and one of the economic portfolio ministries, al-Ahram said, without naming the candidates.

State commissioners of Egypt's administrative court recommended rejecting a case to oust President Mohamed Mursi, saying that it does not fall under the legal jurisdiction of the State Council on Wedensday.
A lawsuit had been filed demanding the dismissal of Mursi from his presidential post on the basis that “he did not commit to his sworn vows of maintaining the country’s stability and security during crisis.”
