Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and chairman of the National Elections Committee, called upon hundreds of young Emirati soldiers to become involved in the upcoming Federal National Council Elections (FNC), which will be held on October 3.

The leader of the Democratic Party, the main party of the opposition in Albania, Lulzim Basha, declared on Wednesday that “the Democratic Party will not form a coalition for the sake of being in power, but it’s ready to fight a frontal war with crime and corruption”.

Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the National Election Committee (NEC), has underlined the role of UAE national youth as an integral part of the national electoral process.

He called for their active participation in the Federal National Council (FNC) elections, urging them to choose their representatives honestly by exercising their electoral rights.

JEDDAH: The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has suspended the Baladi Initiative, triggering a debate as some commercial establishments have already started training workshops and seminars for females in view of the forthcoming civic polls and many are about to launch the same.
A local publication on Saturday said, quoting sources, that the ministry may be planning to organize these courses itself to ensure that they are not used for commercial purposes.

DUBAI // Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum says Emirati women have a national duty to take part in the coming Federal National Council elections.

Sheikha Manal, President of the Gender Balance Council, said Emirati women could fulfil their potential by contributing to the country’s prosperity through the council.

“I would like to take this opportunity call on women to run for the FNC’s elections in order to achieve our aspirations and desired goals, and increase the political and economic participation,” she said.

HAIL: The local election committee in Hail has revealed that voter registration is a pre-condition to cast the ballot, while emphasizing on enrolling themselves in the voter registry, which begins on Aug. 22 and continues for 21 days. 
Saad Al-Thuweini of the media directorate in Hail municipality said that a voting register will be allocated to both men and women in election centers, saying that every citizen is eligible to vote if he or she aged above 18 years. 

The National Election Committee (NEC) will organise a series of seminars on the Federal National Council (FNC) elections across the country. The educational seminars will be organised from August 9 to 19 to raise awareness of the members of the electoral college on the regulatory and legal aspects of the electoral process.
