Le Parlement malien est une chambre unique appelée Assemblée nationale. Les membres de l’Assemblée nationale, élus au suffrage universel direct, portent le titre de député. Les députés ont deux (2) fonctions essentielles : voter la loi et contrôler l’action du Gouvernement.
Le chef du gouvernement veut imprimer une certaine célérité à sa gestion des affaires publiques. Nommé le samedi 5 avril et son gouvernement formé une semaine plus tard, soit le vendredi 11, Moussa Mara sera face aux députés à l’Assemblée nationale pour sa déclaration de politique générale le mardi 29 avril prochain.
Le Premier ministre Moussa Mara était allé hier à la rencontre des partis politiques de la majorité présidentielle à l’auberge « Lagon », sur la route de Koulikoro. Il s’agissait, selon le chef du gouvernement, de la conception d’une feuille de route par rapport à cette période charnière que traverse notre peuple.
«Il ne s’agira pas d’une simple signature de document et de partir nous allons faire en sorte que tout le monde aille dans le même sens ».
C’est, du moins ce qu’à déclaré, le Premier Ministre hier juste après le Conseil de Cabinet qui a vu la signature par les ministres de son Gouvernement des 14 commandements appelés « Engagement d’Ethique et de Responsabilité du Membre du Gouvernement de la République ».

Somali presidential spokesman and senior adviser Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow resigned from his post on Thursday (April 24th) after serving for one year, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.
Yarisow declined to provide an explanation for his resignation and denied speculation that it was related to a disagreement with high-ranking officials.

Turkish President Abdullah Gül has approved a bill expanding the powers and immunities of the country’s spy agency amid strong reactions from opposition parties which argued that the bill will turn the country into "an intelligence state."
Gül’s office announced that the bill was signed into law by Gül late April 25. The bill was much criticized by the opposition parties on the grounds that it will increase the National Intelligence Organization's (MİT) powers without adequate checks and balances.
Kabul: Former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah retained a clear lead in the latest Afghan presidential election results released on Thursday, but he remained below the threshold needed for a decisive first-round victory.

The Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) topped the list with the most funds, at Rp 434.9 billion, while the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI) had the least, at Rp 52.9 billion, according to the General Elections Committee (KPU).
The KPU set the deadline at 6 p.m. on April 24 for parties to submit their reports on final campaign funding for the legislative election.
