Prime Minister Abdullah Thinni complained about ongoing unsubstantiated accusations of corruption against state officials, saying that there needs to be evidence and not just talk.

‘‘There is much talk about corruption within the government, and the media that has agendas that are updated all day (is always) talking about corruption”, he said during a government press conference in Beida on Saturday.

”The only thing I would say is that anyone who has any proof of any government corruption – they should come forward with it’’.

”But the throwing of accusations right and left at the government and the House of Representatives (HoR) members and the Ministers….whoever has conclusive evidence in the form of either an agreement or signature or incorrect legal procedures should come forward with it’’.

‘’We cannot continue to face these accusations day and night without clear evidence. The making of accusations at others is very easy”, he further complained.

”I repeat, any official that is proven to have committed any illegal act – bring forward evidence not just words – for words are easy and anyone can talk’’, concluded the Prime Minister on the subject of allegations of corruption.
