One of the members of the Constitutional Drafting Assembly, Ahmed Mahjoub, is reported to have been wounded in an assassination attempt.
He was diving in his home town of Sebha when gunmen opened fire on him. He suffered injuries to an arm and a leg.
It is thought that the attack was prompted by motives of theft rather than a political move. The gunmen apparently wanted to steal his white Hyundai.
Mahjoub was taken to Sebha Medical Centre from where he was later released. At the hospital he said that he could not remember details of those who attacked him.
