In bid to build support for parliament’s rejection of the UNSMIL Peace Accord in its present form, House of Representatives president Ageela Saleh has headed off to Egypt and the UAE.

In an unannounced trip, he arrived in Cairo today with a party of three MPs and went straight into a meeting with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Sisi.   UNSMIL denied reports that this evening he may have been meeting Bernardino Leon, who is due to give a press conference tomorrow in Tunis.

Saleh is accompanied by HoR Defence Committee chairman Fathi Saaiti, Investment Committee chairman Al-Gatrani and Aisa Al-Araibi. They have with them Issa Abdul Kaum, an adviser on Africa.

The group is expected to now move to the United Arab Emirates.
