The House of Representatives (HoR) was forced to postpone its session today due to the lack of a quorum.

Today’s session was called by the majority group in the hope of voting in support of the UN-brokered Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) signed in the Moroccan city of Skhirat on 17th December. The LPA is to lead to the formation of a Government of National Accord (GNA) to be led by Prime Minister-designate Faiez Al-Serraj.

It will be recalled that the majority HoR group who are in support of the GNA had planned today’s session in opposition to the minority dissenting group led by HoR president Ageela Salah.

One of the options revealed to Libya Herald by majority members returning from Skhirat in Tunis on 20th December was that at today’s session Ageela Salah would be removed as HoR president in order to enable a vote to go through. Ageela Salah and his dissenting minority have been preventing a vote on the GNA by the HoR for weeks.
