El presidente de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina, Mahmud Abbas, anunció ante la 70 Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas que su gobierno no seguirá respetando los acuerdos de paz de Oslo que rigen sus relaciones con Israel desde 1993.

Casi 900 mujeres serán candidatas en las elecciones municipales de Arabia Saudí
Casi 900 mujeres han presentado su candidatura para las elecciones municipales que se celebrarán en el conservador reino el próximo 12 de diciembre, unos comicios en los que por primera vez podrán votar y ser candidatas.
Según los datos publicados este miércoles por el Ministerio de Asuntos Municipales y Rurales y recogidos por 'Saudi Gazette', un total de 6.140 candidatos se han registrado para optar a los puestos en los 284 consejos municipales que se elegirán en todo el reino.
El AKP seguirá sin mayoría absoluta tras las elecciones turcas de noviembre
El AKP, el partido islamista que gobierna Turquía desde 2002, no logrará la mayoría absoluta en las elecciones anticipadas del 1 de noviembre, ya que las encuestas prevén un reparto de votos similar al de los comicios de junio, tras los que no se pudo formar Gobierno por falta de acuerdo.
El sondeo, realizado por el instituto Konda y publicado hoy por el diario "Cumhuriyet", adelanta que el AKP logrará el 41,7 por ciento de los votos, apenas un punto más que en las elecciones ordinarias de junio, cuando esta formación perdió la mayoría absoluta de que disfrutaba desde 2002.
FNC elections: Over 37,000 vote during early polls
Over 37,660 people cast their votes in the three days of early voting for the Federal National Council elections 2015. Early polls were held at nine polling stations from September 28 to 30.
Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister for FNC Affairs and Head of the National Election Committee (NEC), said an electoral silence will follow for 48 hours, starting from October 1 until the election day on October 3.

The National Election Committee (NEC) has announced that the electoral process for the Federal National Council Elections 2015 will enter a period of electoral silence for 48 hours, starting from October 1 to October 3, on election day.

Presidential Elections Delayed to Oct. 21 as Harb Laments 'Postponement Farce'
The presidential elections were postponed for the 29th time on Wednesday after a lack of quorum at parliament.
Speaker Nabih Berri scheduled the next session for October 21.
Following the meeting, Telecommunications Minister Butros Harb deemed the ongoing postponement of the polls as a “farce”.
He condemned linking the elections to regional developments, saying that the ongoing vacuum is an “insult” to the Lebanese people.
ECP reserves verdict on PM’s Kissan package

The Election Commission of Pakistan which had taken notice of the Rs 341 billion Kissan package announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ahead of local government elections reserved on Tuesday its judgment on the issue.
The commission had summoned secretaries of the Ministries of Information and National Food Security to justify the package and its publicity in the print and electronic media.
Committee says violation of election code should be made an ‘offence’

A sub-committee of the parliamentary committee on poll reforms on Tuesday suggested that laws should be amended to make violation of the code of conduct by candidates or political parties during the elections as an “offence”.
This was disclosed by chairman of the sub-committee Zahid Hamid while talking to a group of reporters after presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday.
Gendarmerie asks for fewer, more secure polling stations in Erzincan despite no recent violence
The Erzincan Provincial Gendarmerie Command has asked the provincial electoral board to reduce the number of polling stations and transfer ballot boxes to central locations in the province ahead of the Nov. 1 general election, despite the fact that no violence has occurred in the province recently.
Islamabad LG polls schedule withdrawn again

To be consistent with evolving laws, and to amend for its mistakes, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has withdrawn the schedule for local government elections in the federal capital, it announced on August 28.
An ECP official told Dawn that a fresh schedule will be announced around the middle of October but the polling date of November 30 will remain unchanged. He said the ECP was also awaiting the notified rules, under which elections are to be held.
LG candidates await court’s decision on Murree’s municipal status

With only three days (Oct 3) left to file nomination papers for local government elections, political parties in Murree stand confused.
Their candidates are not clear whether they should file papers for the old municipal committee or the new municipal corporation.
As many as 21 petitions and appeals have been filed with the delimitation authority against the January 5 decision of the government to convert Murree into a municipal corporation. All were dismissed without a hearing.
