President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev nominated the candidates for the election by the members of the Central Election Commission. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.

According to it, the President, in accordance with Paragraph 2 Part 5 of Article 64 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic has made the following nominations for the election by the CEC members: Almaz Asanaliev, Gulnara Baatyrova, Bakhtiyar Kadyrov, Nurzhan Shayldabekova.

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai met the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and enquired after his health.

Karzai expressed best wishes for early recovery of Sharif. Both the leaders discussed situation at Torkham border, bilateral relations and stressed the need for peaceful solution. Nawaz Sharif thanked Hamid Karzai for good wishes.

A lawmaker is pushing the government to immediately sign the bill containing revisions of the 2015 Regional Elections Law so that it can be used for public purposes.

The House of Representatives had passed the draft revision of the Regional Elections Law on June 2. However, the bill has not yet been signed into law and numbered by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's administration.

Western diplomats urged Bosnian leaders Thursday to continue moving toward NATO membership, saying it could bring security and improve people's lives. But a Bosnian Serb leader says Serbs will not let Bosnia join until the alliance resolves its differences with Russia.

The ambassadors of the U.S., Britain and NATO issued a joint statement saying, "If you want positive change ... moving toward NATO is a great way to do it."
