The National Liberation and Justice Party (NLJP) led by Tijani al-Sissi announced the resumption of its participation in the federal government 11 days after pulling its members out of the cabinet.

On 17 June, the former rebel faction suspend its political partnership with the (NCP) and to withdraw from the government saying the ruling National Congress Party didn’t honour an agreement reached before the elections to give them a minister and two state ministers in the federal government, besides several posts at the level of regional states

Sudanese president extends DRA’s term for one year

The Sudanese president Omer Hassan al-Bashir Sunday has issued a presidential decree extending the term of the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) for one year effective 15 July, 2015.

The DRA was established to serve as the major body for implementing the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) signed between the government of Sudan and the former rebel Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) in 2011.

Al menos doce personas murieron este sábado en un ataque de presuntos islamistas sobre la localidad de Nara, a unos 30 kilómetros al sur de la frontera maliense con Mauritania, según ha informado el Ministerio de Defensa.

El Ministerio informó de que los milicianos atacaron el campamento militar de Nada, aunque Souleymane Dembélé, un portavoz del Ejército, aseguró que también atacaron un banco. "Sus métodos indican una infiltración previa y una operación bien planeada", explicó.

ICC judges refer to UNSC Sudan’s non-cooperation on case of ex-defense minister

 The Pre-Trial Chamber II judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) approved a request by the prosecutor and issued a finding of non-cooperation by Sudan in extraditing former defense minister Abdel-Rahim Mohamed Hussein who is now governor of Khartoum.

Hussein was indicted in March 2012 for charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes in connection with the Darfur conflict.

Egypt's Foreign Ministry rejected on Friday a United States report critical of the state's human rights practices in 2014, saying it relied on sources which lack "accuracy and credibility."

The ministry said in a statement that though the report included some positive references, it was mired with "fallacies and exaggerations" regarding the status of human rights in Egypt.

Opposition’s JPF resumes participation in Sudan’s dialogue process

The opposition Just Peace Forum (JPF) led al-Tayeb Mustafa announced the resumption of its participation in the national dialogue process without preconditions.

Last January, the JPF and the Reform Now Movement (RNM) of Ghazi Salah Eddin al-Attabani said they decided to “suspend participation in the national dialogue until the requirements of a conducive environment (...) are met”.

HPR Bureau decides to strive to adopt anti-terrorism bill before next July 25

The Bureau of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) decided at its meeting Friday to make every effort to complete the discussion of the draft law on fight against terrorism and money laundering before Republic Day which coincides with next July 25. 

The decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of the HPR Bureau that took place Friday afternoon in the presence of parliamentary group presidents.

HPR Speaker Mohamed Ennaceur called on members of the committee responsible for that bill to redouble efforts and work day and night, if necessary, to achieve this goal.

Albania's left-wing governing coalition scored a massive victory in last Sunday's local elections, winning about 62 per cent of the vote, while international observers raised concerns about allegations of vote-buying and intimidation.

With more than 92 per cent of the votes counted, the 37 parties of the left-wing ruling coalition won 62 per cent of all votes cast on Sunday while the 15 parties of the main opposition bloc won about 31 per cent.

The rest of the votes were divided among 11 parties that ran outside the two main coalitions.

Al menos 27 personas han muerto en el asalto de varios hombres armados con fusiles Kaláshnikov a un hotel en la ciudad turística de Susa, en el centro de Túnez, según ha informado el ministerio de Interior del país.
