Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was competing neither against Imran Khan nor Asif Ali Zardari, adding that his party was in a constant struggle against the invisible forces.

Addressing a PML-N rally in Sadiqabad, the party’s supremo said, “I and PML-N are competing against neither Imran Khan nor Asif Zardari. Our competition is with the invisible forces. In this fight, the people of Sadiqabad are with me.”

 A coalition of some opposition left parties, the National Consensus Forces (NCF), said it wouldn’t participate in the 2020 elections and won’t meet with the ruling party to discuss these elections.

On Sunday, the alliance held a meeting with the participation of the heads of the NCF parties and the general secretariat to discuss a number of organizational and political issues.

In a press release extended to Sudan Tribune on Monday, the NCF said the meeting discussed recent economic, social and political developments and ways to an activate joint political action.

The opposition İYİ (Good) Party on April 30 vowed to host the “reopening of Wikipedia,” which has been banned in Turkey for over a year, a day after snap elections on June 24. 

“All of Turkey’s citizens are invited to Wikipedia’s [re]opening on June 25,” the party’s official Twitter post read.

Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil said in a press conference Monday that the turnout rate for Lebanese expats voting reached 59%, stressing that it “reflects the enthusiasm of Lebanese.”

Political party leaders should not run in presidential elections because the position requires political impartiality, main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said on April 29. 

Speaking at a local media gathering in the Marmaris district of Muğla province, Kılıçdaroğlu once again said he would not be running in the upcoming snap presidential election on June 24, recalling that a president will have to swear an oath for “impartially” at parliament to take the seat.
