MQM to present resolution against PPO in Sindh Assembly today

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Faisal Subzwari said on Monday that his party will present a resolution against the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance (PPO) in Sindh Assembly today and raised concern over the missing party workers, Geo News reported.

While talking to the media before the Sindh Assembly session today, the leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Faisal Subzwari told that his party wants to maintain a satisfactory working relationship along with representing the opposition.

He further said that MQM had not demanded to introduce a strict law like PPO to defeat the criminals. He expressed his concern over the illegal arrest of MQM workers and release of Taliban prisoners.

On this occasion, Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and MQM are having a peaceful dialogue process. While expressing his concerns over the introduction of PPO, he stated that it’s a severe law and no citizen will remain safe if implemented incorrectly.

Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Irfanullah Marwat said that PPO has been introduced to support operation in Karachi and is the need of security institutions.
