The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf women accused of selling their votes in the Senate elections spoke against Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, calling him a ‘vindictive person’.

The PTI female lawmakers included Naseem Hayat, Nargis Ali, Nagina Khan, who held a joint press conference in Peshawar. During the press conference, three women took an oath on the holy book saying they didn’t sell their votes.

President Mamnoon Hussain said on Monday that the General Elections 2018 will be held on time. Speaking to the media after his personal visit to the passport office along with his wife, the president said grievances will be resolved if all the state institutions work under constitutional limits.

He further added that political parties cannot work in harmony even if efforts are made.

"Politicians are not minors who need to be told what should and should not be done," said President Hussain.

A five-member bench of the country's apex court unanimously ruled on Friday that anyone disqualified under a constitutional clause requiring legislators to be "honest and trustworthy" would be considered banned for life.

The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has handed over the list of 104.26 million voters to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

According to the electoral authority, the voters can confirm their registration and acquire details of their constituency on the mobile phones by sending an text message on 8300. In a statement, Nadra said that voters can contact their nearest display centre to have their voting constituency updated.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has elected Shehbaz Sharif as permanent president of the party as the Central General Council met in Islamabad on Tuesday. According to media reports, Shehbaz was elected uncontested as no other candidate submitted documents for the presidency of the party.

Earlier, PML-N leader Senator Asif Kirmani told media that party meeting will be held with a single point agenda to elect the new president. Along with other leaders, Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz attended the meeting at Convention Centre, Islamabad.
