Ahead of the official announcement of the 2019 general election results on May 22, Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno campaign team member Fadli Zon said the team would not dispute the election results at the Constitutional Court.

The deputy chairman of the Gerindra Party said Prabowo and then-running mate Hatta Rajasa challenged the 2014 presidential election results at the court, but it proved to be “a waste of time.”

The idea of holding digital elections is picking up steam following reports that dozens of election workers died of reported extreme fatigue during and after organizing the nation’s first-ever concurrent elections, billed by many as “the world’s most complex”.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia held the world's biggest and most complex single-day vote on April 17, 2019, where 192 million people queued up at some 810 thousand polling stations across its 34 provinces in the country and overseas.

In a subtle rebuke to his rival’s repeated victory declaration, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said on Thursday evening that more than 13 state leaders had congratulated “all Indonesians, as well as Jokowi and Ma’ruf” for the success of the general election on April 17.

He was referring to his running mate Ma’ruf Amin.

Voting in several regions of Jayapura, Papua have been delayed owing to a lack of materials. 

“Besides in Abepura district, voting has been delayed in three subdistricts in South Jayapura district,” Papua General Elections Commission (KPU) head Theodorus Kossay said in Jayapura on Wednesday as quoted by Antara.
