Malgré le rejet populaire de la présidentielle du 4 juillet, Abdelaziz Belaïd veut être candidat

Le président du front El Mostakbel, Abdelaziz Belaïd, a retiré les formulaires de candidature à la présidentielle du 4 juillet, un rendez-vous que le pouvoir veut organiser bien que rejeté par les manifestations qui se poursuivent. 

Le ministère de l’Intérieur a confirmé dans un communiqué le retrait des formulaires par le parti de M. Belaïd, déjà candidat potentiel à la présidentielle annulée d’avril dernier. Le même document a affirmé que 73 lettres d’intention au total ont été déposées dans un bilan provisoire arrêté le 14 mai.

The High Election Board said irregularities affected the outcome of the March 31 mayoral election in Istanbul, when the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) narrowly defeated President Tayyip Erdogan’s AK Party (AKP).

Do all Palestinians have the right to citizenship in whatever state rules historic Palestine? After all, they or their recent ancestors were bonafide citizens of British-Mandate Palestine. Doesn’t the right of return to their homes now in the state of Israel entail the right of re-enfranchisement? Could citizenship now be declared for all Palestinians in a state claiming legitimate sovereignty over all of historic Palestine? Is a state ruling historic Palestine democratically legitimate which refuses them return-as-citizens return?

Ahead of the official announcement of the 2019 general election results on May 22, Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno campaign team member Fadli Zon said the team would not dispute the election results at the Constitutional Court.

The deputy chairman of the Gerindra Party said Prabowo and then-running mate Hatta Rajasa challenged the 2014 presidential election results at the court, but it proved to be “a waste of time.”

Le général à la retraite Khaled Nezzar a été entendu, ce mardi 14 mai, par le juge d’instruction du tribunal militaire de Blida dans l’affaire qui concerne Said Bouteflika, les généraux Mohamed Mediene (Toufik) et Athmane Tartag ainsi que Louisa Hanoune.

Selon le site Algeriepatriotique, l’ancien ministre de la Défense a été entendu en tant que « témoin » dans cette affaire. Il s’est abstenu de faire de déclaration sur son audition aux fins de respecter « le secret de l’instruction », précise le site, propriété de sa famille.

La Mauritanie a reçu un appui logistique du gouvernement espagnol destiné à la surveillance territoriale et à la lutte contre l’immigration clandestine, a-t-on constaté mardi à Nouakchott.Cet appui est composé d’un lot de véhicules 4X4 et d’un appareil de détection des documents falsifiés.
 
Il a été remis par l’ambassadeur d’Espagne en Mauritanie, Jesus Ignacio Santos Aguado, au secrétaire général du ministère de l’Intérieur et de la Décentralisation mauritanien, Mohamed Ould Soueidatt.

Sudanese protesters resumed negotiations with the army on Monday while calling for renewed demonstrations to press the generals to hand over power to a civilian government.
 
The military removed President Omar al-Bashir from power in April after four months of mass protests, but the demonstrators have remained in the streets, demanding the dismantling of his regime. In recent weeks they have threatened a general strike and civil disobedience.
