Mercredi 6 juin 2018, la Maison de la presse de Bamako a servi de cadre à la présentation des résultats du sondage d’opinion  du Centre Malien pour le Dialogue Inter parti et la Démocratie (CMDID).  Ce sondage a été réalisé entre les 6 et 24 avril 2018. Les résultats font état d’un éventuel taux élevé de participation aux présidentielles de 2018.

Selahattin Demirtaş, the jailed presidential candidate from the Kurdish issue-focused Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), reached out to voters through his wife’s phone on June 6, holding a campaign “rally” from his prison cell in the northeastern province of Edirne. 

Demirtaş on June 6 issued his first, and possibly only, audio message of the campaign, using the weekly 10-minute telephone call he is permitted to make to his wife Başak.

SC orders candidates to submit affidavits with nomination papers

The Supreme Court on Wednesday instructed aspiring candidates to submit an affidavit, detailing their assets, along with their nomination papers.

A five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, resumed hearing of a petition filed by former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq challenging a Lahore High Court (LHC) verdict rejecting nomination papers, drafted by a parliamentary committee, for violating Article 62, 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Le ministre tunisien de l’Intérieur Lotfi Brahem a été démis de ses fonctions mercredi 6 juin par Youssef Chahed. Le chef du gouvernement entreprend ainsi de faire le ménage au sein de son gouvernement, une manière d’anticiper le remaniement ministériel prévu à la reprise des discussions de l’accord de Carthage, en début de semaine prochaine.

Le premier à passer à la trappe : le ministre de l’Intérieur, Lotfi Brahem. Le chef du gouvernement tunisien Youssef Chahed l’a démis de ses fonctions ce mercredi 6 juin, selon un communiqué du gouvernement, sans en donner les raisons.

Lahcen Daoudi démissionne. Le ministre PJDiste des Affaires générales et de la gouvernance a demandé, mercredi 6 juin, sa démission du gouvernement suite à sa participation très controversée au sit-in des employés de Centrale Danone tenu hier soir devant le Parlement à Rabat. 

Dans un communiqué publié mercredi soir, le PJD a annoncé qu’une réunion extraordinaire du secrétariat général du “parti de la lampe” s’est tenue sous la présidence de Saad Eddine El Othmani, secrétaire général du parti et chef du gouvernement.

Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri announced on Tuesday during a Iftar in Beirut that the government to be formed will be comprised of 30 ministers.

“The government that we will form hopefully will be of 30 ministers, this is the maximum that I can announce, and cooperation is ongoing with all parties to accomplish this task,” said Hariri in a speech he made.

“I am optimistic that all political parties are cooperating to form this government. If we want to please each party regarding the number of ministers it wants, we would form a government of 50 ministers,” he added.

Le rassemblement des forces de progrès, RFD, a renouvelé mardi sa position par rapport aux prochaines élections municipales et législatives dans le pays. 

Dans un communiqué de presse succinct, le RFD affirme n’avoir toujours pas pris une décision de participer ou de ne pas participer à ces élections quand bien même il ait mis sur pied depuis quelque temps des commissions pour étudier la situation politique dans le pays, ses incidences actuelles et la position que le parti se doit de prendre en ce sens.

The incumbent Member of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) Presidency Mladen Ivanic announced his candidacy for another term at the upcoming general elections on Monday in Banja Luka, a city 190 kilometers northwest of the capital Sarajevo.

During the meeting, representatives of 10 parties in Republika Srpska (RS), one of the entities in BiH, signed the Agreement on Principles of Joint Action, presenting Ivanic as a candidate for BiH Presidency in front of Parties of Alliance for Change.

Opposition parties from the Alliance for Change coalition in Bosnia’s Serb-dominated Republika Srpska entity signed an agreement to co-operate in a bid to defeat President Milorad Dodik’s party at polls in October.

Three major Bosnian Serb opposition parties, along with six other political groups, joined forces on Monday in an attempt to defeat the coalition centred around Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik’s Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, which has been in power in the entity for 12 years.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday said there was no possibility of a delay in the upcoming elections unless the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) 'becomes helpless.'  Justice Nisar made the comment during the hearing of a case regarding electoral amendments — filed by the Workers Party. 

All matters pertaining to elections must be completed on an urgent basis, the chief justice noted. Director-general of Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) noted that the code of conduct was formed with consensus from all political parties.

Opposition alliance agreed to intensify talks to prepare a roadmap for the post-election period in order to ensure “a strong parliamentary system,” main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) and İYİ (Good) Party leaders stated after a meeting.

“The electorate is expecting us to build a strengthened parliamentary system, in which democracy is fully implemented and parliament is strong,” said İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener, after visiting CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the CHP headquarters on June 4.

Supreme Board Election (YSK) has granted Selahattin Demirtas, the jailed presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), the right to conduct audio-visual campaigning to be aired on state-run TRT ahead of the June 24 presidential election.

The YSK granted presidential candidates President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Muharrem İnce, Meral Akşener, Temel Karamollaoğlu, Doğu Perinçek and Demirtaş permission to campaign through audio-visual material to appear on state-run TRT.

Au moins seize personnes ont été blessées samedi à Bamako lors d'une "marche pacifique" de l'opposition, interdite par le pouvoir, qui a rassemblé plusieurs centaines de manifestants, à deux mois de l'élection présidentielle, a constaté un correspondant de l'AFP.

« Il y a effectivement plusieurs blessés, dont un policier blessé au front et au moins un homme politique », a déclaré à l’AFP un médecin de l’hôpital Gabriel Touré de Bamako.

Lebanon’s new government to be formed by PM-designate Saad Hariri will not “isolate” any political party, amid assurances that any obstacle threatening the formation process will be “overcome,” al-Joumhouria daily reported on Saturday.

Sources of President Michel Aoun said: “The new government will not isolate anyone,” noting that the “Lebanese Forces are not targeted at all,” and that their concerns have been addressed during a meeting between the President and LF chief Samir Geagea.

The most important goal in the upcoming general election is to prevent Croat leader Dragan Covic from once again being a member of the tripartite Presidency, member of the Civic Alliance (GS) political council, Emir Suljagic, told N1.

Suljagic was a Bosniak Presidency member candidate in the 2014 general election, representing the Democratic Front (DF), who’se leader, Zeljko Komsic, is now running for the Croat Presidency member position.

The Presidency is composed of three members representing Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs.
