Final day of Egypt's parliamentary election's run-offs kicks off Tuesday

The second and final day of the run-off elections in the second round of the Egyptian parliamentary elections began at 9am on Tuesday.

The second round includes constituencies from 13 out of the 27 governorates, with the run-offs being limited to candidates running under the individual system who will compete for the 101 remaining seats after securing 42 individual seats during the first round.

There are 202 candidates competing for 101 individual seats.

The 142 seats reserved for candidates running under the party list system were swept by an electoral list led by the pro-government Mostaqbal Watan Party in the first round.

The governorates of the second round are Cairo, Qalioubiya, Daqahliya, Menoufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailiya, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.

The results of the runoffs will be announced on 14 December.
