Egypt's Presidential Election Commission decided on Thursday to notify Hamdeen Sabahi that announcing his electoral program ahead of the official date for the campaigns to kick off is a clear violation, an official statement said.

The commission will consider taking legal actions against Sabahi who announced his vision in a press conference on Wednesday.

Sabahi's campaign legal advisor said that the campaign has not announced the full electoral program yet, which will be announced on Saturday.

The campaigns for presidential candidates are scheduled to begin on May 3 and end on May 23.

According to the constitution, candidates who breach the set dates shall be fined anything from EGP 10,000 to 500,000.

Sabahi and former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi are competing in Egypt's presidential election.
