PETALING JAYA: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim will take former Kapar member of parliament S. Manikavasagam to court for accusing him of corrupt practices and vote-buying.

“I have ordered the lawyer to submit a Notice of Claim suit against Manikavasagam for accusing me of corruption by buying votes,” Khalid tweeted on Tuesday morning.

Manikavasagam has claimed that he has audio recordings which suggest that an officer aligned to Khalid was paying people RM50 each for votes.

Khalid has rubbished Manikavasagam's allegations and has said that the former Kapar MP should send his proof to the party election committee for investigations instead of “throwing tantrums”.

On Monday, PKR party elections chairman Datuk Johari Abdul said that the committee had yet to receive any complaints on alleged vote-buying by deputy president candidate Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim in the Kuala Selangor division election, as alleged.

Manikavasigam was reported saying that PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be blamed for the chaos and irregularities in the recent PKR party elections because he has not practised democracy himself.
