Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi continues to gain public support after ten months in office, according to a new poll from the Baseera Centre for Public Opinion Studies.

Likewise, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab's popularity has also increased, according to the Baseera poll, whose results were unveiled on Wednesday.

Support for El-Sisi as president has increased to 89 percent, according to Baseera, three percent up from the result of a poll held after his first six months in power.

An even earlier survey conducted by Baseera after El-Sisi's first 100 days as president showed public support of 82 percent.

In the most recent poll, after El-Sisi's first ten months in power, 4 percent of respondents did not approve of the incumbent president’s performance. Another seven percent could not decide.

Some 83 percent of participants said that they would re-elect El-Sisi as president if they were given the chance.

Up to 66 percent of voters saw Mahlab's performance as good, the highest percentage he has received in any Baseera poll since he came to office in February.

Another 13 percent believed that his performance is mediocre, while 2 percent labeled it bad. The remaining 19 percent could not decide.

Baseera surveyed 2,016 people of different ages and educational backgrounds from across Egypt by phone for the poll.

Baseera did not receive any external funding to conduct the poll.
