Saleh appointed deputy premier; MP inquires about expat remittances

The Cabinet yesterday appointed Finance Minister Anas Al-Saleh as deputy prime minister. Notably, Saleh was appointed minister of commerce and industry in 2012, then assumed the finance ministry portfolio in January 2014.

Saleh was born in 1972 and got a degree in business administration from Portland University in the US in 1997. He was a member of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce board from 2006 to 2010, board member and managing director of Kuwait Invest Holding Co in 2006, board member of Kuwait Real Estate Co in 2003, manager of Gulf Brokerage Co in 1997 and board member of the Financial Services Group Co from 2000 to 2003

MP inquires about expat remittances MP Khalil Al-Saleh yesterday filed an inquiry with the oil minister about fish resources, in which he asked about losing 4,000 tons of fish and shrimp stocks in Kuwaiti waters. Saleh also asked the finance minister about expats’ remittances over the past five years and asked for detailed information about each of those years

Prisoners’ exchange in effect ‘soon’ Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Ali Enayati said that thanks to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah’s visit to Iran last year, a treaty to exchange prisoners between Kuwait and Tehran that was signed 10 years ago would take effect and Iranian prisoners would be repatriated to Iran soon.
