1677 judges arrive in Alexandria to supervise parliamentary elections

On Friday, 1677 judges arrived in Alexandria to supervise the elections that are due to take place on Sunday and Monday, Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported.

Judges from different judicial bodies (judges, State Council members, prosecutors and administrative prosecutors) will be distributed on Saturday to 1677 polling stations in 10 constituencies in Alexandria.

A total of 16,000 members from different judicial bodies will supervise polling stations during the two phases in Egypt.

Twenty-five individual seats are reserved for Alexandria in the parliament that are being contested by 390 candidates.

As for electoral lists seats, seven seats in the West Delta constituency are reserved for Alexandria, out of a total of 15 seats for the constituency.

The West Delta constituency also includes Beheira (seven seats) and Matrouh (one seat).

Four electoral lists are competing in Alexandria.

As part of security preparations for the elections, walls of sand are being installed around polling stations by security and executive authorities in Alexandria, according to Al-Ahram's website.
