Le site de NessmaTV, citant des sources bien informées, a annoncé que Mohsen Marzouk, président d’Al Machrou3, allait annoncer sa candidature aux prochaines élections présidentielles.

Les mêmes sources ont précisé que cette annonce ne saurait tarder et qu’elle sera faite d’ici quelques heures!

President Erdoğan urges Istanbulites to flock to polls for do-over of mayoral election

Turkey's president on Friday urged Istanbulites to flock to the polls for the do-over of the mayoral election next month, warning against plots targeting the nation.

Speaking at a fast-breaking (iftar) dinner in Istanbul's Üsküdar district, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan underlined the importance of casting votes for the do-over polls for Istanbul mayor set for June 23.

"Did you see how the West and various countries of Europe rejoiced over the person who they thought won the March 31 elections?" Erdoğan asked.

Yemen death toll could hit 233,000 by 2020

The death toll in Yemen could reach 233,000 by the year 2020 as part of what the United Nations calls “humanity’s greatest preventable disaster”, a 60-page report has said.
 
Sixty percent of the projected death toll could be children under the age of 5, according to the report, titled “Assessing the impact of war on development in Yemen.”

At least seven Palestinians were injured by live bullets today, including a child, when Israeli forces attacked hundreds of protesters taking part in the weekly Great March of Return at the east border of the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
 
Stationed at borderline watchtowers and in armored military vehicles, Israeli soldiers fired live bullets and rubber-coated steel rounds at the protesters who gathered at many locations along the border, injuring seven of them.
 

Damascus rejects Arab Summit’s criticism of Iran’s presence in Syria

The government in Damascus has rejected the final statement of the Arab emergency summit held in Saudi Arabia, which criticizes what it called “Iranian intervention” into Syrian affairs, AP reports.

18% of Syrians Married Before 19 in Lebanon

A recent study of early marriage among Syrian refugees in south Lebanon has found that around 18 percent of women in those communities are married by the age of 19.
 
In the sample of 1,625 adolescent girls and 893 adult women surveyed, about 14 percent were married before the age of 18, researchers found.
 
While the majority of those had married at the age of 16 or above, researchers spoke to some girls who had married as young as 11, and one girl who had been married, divorced and remarried by the age of 15.

Presidential candidate and Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto left Indonesia on Tuesday morning for a trip to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and Vienna, amid speculation that his party was linked to the May 22 riot.
 
Gerindra executive Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed that Prabowo had flown to Dubai with several friends on a private jet for a medical checkup.
 
“He is there for a routine medical checkup, something that he regularly does. He will also meet several business colleagues there,” Riza said.

A possible US-backed thaw in Qatari-Saudi relations has been signalled by Qatari diplomats travelling to Saudi Arabia to lay the ground for their country’s attendance at a major summit in Mecca on alleged Iranian aggression in the region.
