Mauritania: Abd el Aziz, reelegido presidente con el 82% de los votos
Mohamed uld Abd el Aziz revalida su mandato con una aplastante victoria en las elecciones presidenciales de Mauritania. Según los resultados definitivos de la Comisión Electoral, Abd el Aziz ha conseguido el 82 por ciento de las papeletas en unos comicios en los que la participación fue del 54 por ciento. No es necesaria pues una segunda vuelta. La tasa de participación era prácticamente la única incógnita importante ya que la mayor parte de la oposición boicoteó los comicios.

Hafter orders Turks and Qataris out of eastern Libya
Turks and Qataris in eastern Libya – “from Sirte to Musaid (on the Egyptian border)” – have been told to leave the country. The stark warning came from General Khalifa Hafter’s spokesman, Mohamed Hejazi. He told the Libya Herald that they had to go “within 48 hours” of the warning.
Kunduz Provincial ECC Office Head Resigns
Kunduz provincial Electoral Complaints Commission (IEC) office head, Sebghatullah Wafaye, announced his resignation from his post on Sunday afternoon because of supposed interference by the central ECC office.
Wafaye said that the ECC employees sent confidential information to both the electoral commissions’ provincial offices and headquarters.
Don’t worry about AKP after presidential poll, Turkish PM says
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is proceeding on its “presidency road” without worrying about individual concerns and who will lead the party after the elections, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on June 21.
Speaking to his party’s Istanbul provincial members, Erdoğan said the AKP would continue on its road regardless of who will lead it.

El tribunal penal de la ciudad egipcia de Minia condenó hoy a muerte a 183 seguidores de los Hermanos Musulmanes, entre ellos el líder de la cofradía, Mohamed Badía, por el asesinato de un policía e incitación a la violencia, informó la agencia estatal de noticias Mena.
La fuente señaló que otros 496, sobre un total de 683 acusados, fueron absueltos, mientras que cuatro personas recibieron una sentencia de cadena perpetua.

OIC says it won't recognize Syria presidential poll
The foreign ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member states on Thursday said they would not recognize Syria's recent presidential election, saying the poll violated resolutions issued at the Geneva 1 and 2 conferences.
In a final communiqué issued following their meeting in Saudi Arabia's city of Jeddah, OIC foreign ministers added that the so-called "Geneva process" had called for the formation of a transitional Syrian government with the aim of launching an inclusive political process.

The Muslim Brotherhood: Cut off at the roots
In Contrast to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s overtures to Muslim Brotherhood members not involved in violence in the post-30 June 2013 period, the government is continuing to follow through on policies aimed at politically eliminating the Islamist organisation and cutting off its sources of funding. Most recently the Teachers and Pharmacists Syndicates, long time political platforms for the Brotherhood, were sequestrated. Earlier this week the assets of Zad and Seoudi supermarket chains, owned by leading Brotherhood members Khairat Al-Shater and Abdel-Rahman Seoudi, were seized.

Presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah declaration on boycotting relations with the Independent Election Commission (IEC) raised reactions from the international community including the United Nations (UN), United States and Britain.
“Election commissions must show highest level of transparency and trustee and must address concerns of candidates,” Nazifullah Salarzay, spokesman for the United Nations Office in Afghanistan, said. “Efforts must be made to ensure that legit votes are counted and illegitimate votes are avoided, those instances will follow our complete support.”
Turnout In Runoff Less Than First Round
The Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) shared its findings about the elections with media on Thursday at a press conference.
TEFA reported that the runoff turnout was no more than six million, a figure much lower than the first round. The report also indicated that the runoff witnessed more challenges, riggings and violations compared to the first round.
Some of the issues highlighted in the report are as followed:
