The President of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree on dissolution of several local councils and early elections, Information Policy Department of the President’s Office reported.
The decree states that due to the fact that local councils failed to elect heads of executive bodies of local governments it is necessary to accept the offer of the Central Election Commission and dissolve councils of Kara-Suu town (Osh province), Toguz -Toro (Toguz- Toro district), Terek-Say (Chatkal district of Jalal-Abad province).
It is also necessary to schedule the early elections to the above mentioned local councils for Sunday, August 18, 2013.
Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic has to organize early elections to the above mentioned representative bodies of local governments in accordance with the law.
Government is to allocate money for early elections according to estimates, to take measures to ensure the rule of law, human rights and freedoms, protection of public order.
The decree comes into force from the date of its official publication.
