Ruler of Sharjah issues decree on SCC elections

Article 3 of the decree stipulates that each constituency will have an electoral college with members named by the Ruler.

Sharjah - His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued Emiri Decree No. (59) of year 2015 on the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) elections.

Article 3 of the decree stipulates that each constituency will have an electoral college with members named by the ruler.

General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the fifth International Cyber Crimes Conference has started in Abu Dhabi in conjunction with the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014). 

 

The event is organised by the Ministry of Interior and Institute of Training and Judicial Studies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the National Electronic Security Authority (NESA).

The Gulf Cooperation Council yesterday unanimously declared Lebanon-based Hezbollah a terrorist organization and said it would take measures against the group’s interest in the Gulf countries.
“All GCC countries are convinced that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization,” Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Ghanim bin Fadl Al-Buainain told reporters following a meeting of GCC foreign ministers in Jeddah.

Abu Dhabi: The prime suspect accused of heading a clandestine organisation that was plotting to overthrow the government defended himself in court on Tuesday.

He claimed the dispute was triggered not over the organisation’s legitimacy but over the signing of a petition asking for free elections of Federal National Council (FNC) members.

The Supreme Court’s National Security Court concluded the five-hour session by postponing deliberations until May 20, to hear the final argument from the defence attorney and from four more suspects.

Abu Dhabi: The Supreme Court’s state security court on Tuesday set May 13 and 14 as the next dates in the trial of a group of Emiratis charged with threatening national security.

At the end of a five-hour session on Tuesday, Presiding Judge Falah Al Hajiri said the court will hear the defence deliberations of the rest of the accused at the next hearing.
